🍗🔥 The Turkey Leg Hustle: From Smoked Turkey Legs to Federal Arson Charges

Houston Turkey Leg Hut Owner Arrested By Feds After Allegedly Paying To Have The Business Burned Down.

Whew, chile... The Turkey Leg Hut drama just keeps cooking — and this time, it’s not the turkey legs that are smoked.

Lyndell “Lynn” Price, former co-owner of Houston's famous Turkey Leg Hut, has officially been arrested on federal arson charges.

Yes, you read that right.

The feds came knocking — and they didn’t come for a plate.

Price, 42, is accused of orchestrating the 2020 fire that torched Bar 5015, a Third Ward staple owned by his then-business rival, Steve Rogers.

According to the indictment, Price allegedly pulled a full "hood movie" stunt, recruiting people to douse the entrance with gasoline and light it up like the Fourth of July. The damage? Over $750,000.

(And y’all wonder why insurance rates be high.)

But if you’ve been following this saga, you know this ain’t his first stroll down Bad Decision Boulevard.

Let’s roll the messy timeline, shall we?

🗓 The Turkey Leg Hut Saga: A Timeline of Fumble and Foolishness

2016: Lynn Price and Nakia Holmes start selling turkey legs outside the Houston Rodeo. The hustle is real — and so is the smoke.

2017: They open the now-infamous Turkey Leg Hut in Houston's Third Ward, instantly becoming a cultural phenomenon. Turkey legs the size of toddlers? Say less.

2019: Neighbors sue them over all that smoky goodness clouding up the block. TLH faces a temporary injunction over their outdoor smokers.

2020: Steve Rogers (Bar 5015 owner) sues Holmes for breach of fiduciary duty and fraud... then poof — Bar 5015 mysteriously catches fire. (👀)

Spoiler: Lynn allegedly had everything to do with it.

2021: Turkey Leg Hut tries to implement a “No Hood Behavior” dress code (you know, no bonnets, no sagging, no being too Black at a Black establishment). Houston Twitter eats them alive.

2022: US Foods sues the Turkey Leg Hut for $1.2 million in unpaid food invoices. (Because the turkey legs weren't the only thing being stretched.)

2023: Nakia Holmes files for divorce, alleging abuse. Meanwhile, Lynn gets fired from Turkey Leg Hut — via email — for financial misconduct. Not the HR special!

2024: Multiple fires hit the Turkey Leg Hut (again), bankruptcy looms, and finally, the restaurant shutters its doors. Lynn pops up elsewhere with a new spot called The Oyster Hut — because apparently, accountability wasn't on the menu.

🎯 And Now... Federal Charges

Lynn Price was indicted this month by a federal grand jury and is facing serious time:

➡️ Up to 20 years in federal prison

➡️ And a $250,000 fine

And let’s be clear:

The feds don't move unless they already got you by the apron strings.

Price’s detention hearing is scheduled for next week. Meanwhile, Houston's foodies and Twitter detectives are already hosting virtual cookouts, dragging what’s left of his legacy through the pit.

✍🏽 Final Thoughts

It’s crazy to think it started with a dream, a smoker, and some seasoned legs — and ended with FBI agents and federal indictments.

Moral of the story?

🔥 If you can’t stand the heat... don’t set the kitchen on fire.

Stay tuned, because you already know...

In Houston, the tea stays hotter than the barbecue pits.
